Activity

The Ulverton Woolen Mill was built in 1840, at the time of the massive arrival of Scottish weavers, and was recognized as a historic monument in 1977. The interpretation center allows visitors to discover the pre-industrial methods of production and wool processing, with period machines still in operation. The trails start near the mill and, at the start, you can admire a waterfall and a dam near the covered bridge. We will follow the banks of the Ulverton river through a mixed forest and we will cross the river several times thanks to footbridges and suspension bridges. We will pass through a flower garden and we will reach a belvedere overlooking the river and a waterfall. Feeders allow bird watching and sheep can be fed in two enclosures bordering the trails.
